Located on Eastwood Road in Dunkeld, JoyJozi bring unforgettable, premium dining experience for both parents and kids – by far. The restaurant is designed in such a way that parents and friends can enjoy their meals with a view of a beautiful garden, while kids have a whole lot of fun comprising array of slides, arcade room, toddler play area, reading room, climbing wall, and much more.
Our highlights of the night were delightful food, imaginative cocktails, unmatched service, and a great ambiance. JoyJozi meets expectations for all special family and friends’ outings or celebrations.
Food
Our best part was of course, the food. We started with JoyJozi Sushi special – sashimi salmon interleaved with avocado, scallion, garnish, and soya dressing. We’ve had a few Sushi selections in the past, but the JoyJozi special is unavoidably to die for – it rates the best among the rest. Also on our starter was the mouthwatering Salt and Pepper Squid infused with lime-jalapeno aioli, parsley, and dill. It was very nicely done and crunchy.
There was no way that we’d jump to the mains without trying one of the pizzas. The deliciously made Green Lamb with courgette pesto base, feta, shredded lamb, and fior di latte was our choice. It looked simple but very delightful – it actually reminded me of my grandma’s kitchen back in the days.
For the mains, the salivating Chef’s expression fish of the day, Barramundi, and 350G rib-eye, sided with garlic mash and loaded fries were by far the best – the Chef delivered to our expectations. The fish was well garnished, moist, and crispy on the skin at the same time. The rib-eye was soft, succulent, coated in a flavourful blend of spices and satisfying.
We ended the night with irresistibly Little Foodie Waffle with vanilla bean ice cream and rainbow sprinkles, as well as a chocolate cake.
Drinks
Cocktails at JoyJozi are a delight. We had a combination of both classic and signature cocktails, which equally met our expectations of the night. Classic Cosmo made of Belvedere Vodka, Cointreau, vanilla, lime, and cranberry juice was a joy, keeping us warmer. Babysitter made of Belvedere Vodka, passion fruit liqueur, Cointreau, fresh lemon, Fitch & Leedes tonic, as well as Me Time which is a classic G&T, Hendrick’s Gin, elderflower, fresh cucumber, lemon, Fitch & Leedes tonic took us home safe!
Service
The service was impeccable and unmatched throughout the evening. The waitress by the name of Paulinah was very attentive, knowledgeable, and very eager to help – she gets 10 out of 10.
Ambience
JoyJozi brings the element of fun. It was most definitely designed with kids in mind and there is so much for them to do. The restaurant carries a positive energy, liveliness, and a mood great for family outings.
