The Cellars-Hohenort Hotel & Spa, in collaboration with nearby vineyards in the Constantia Valley, will conclude their trio of gourmet wine dinner events. The series kicked off with Buitenverwachting Wines in June, continued with Beau Constantia in July, and will wrap up with Groot Constantia on August 30, 2024.

The extravagant, multi-course feast starts with canapés of oysters; followed by compressed melon pavlova served with the welcome drink of Buitenverwachting’s Sauvignon Blanc Chardonnay blend (2023). The line fish course is paired with the 2023 Chardonnay; followed by Outeniqua springbok enjoyed with the limited release 2020 MPV red blend.

The hearty main course of Moroccan spiced lamb shoulder meets its perfect match in the Bordeaux style blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc – Buitenverwachting Christine 2016; with a classic dessert of apple tarte tatin enjoyed with a glass of Noble Late Harvest 2021 to end festivities on a sweet note.

Guests may book for the dinner only (R745 per person including the wine pairing) or spoil themselves with an overnight stay after the event. The all-inclusive rate of R2745 per person sharing includes the wine pairing dinner, luxury accommodation and complimentary in-room treats such as the stocked mini-bar and a bottle of wine.

It also includes full breakfast the next morning served in the newly decorated Conservatory Restaurant, complete with a cold buffet and a choice of hot dishes to order, as well as Bloody Marys, Mimosas, freshly squeezed juices, and fragrant teas and coffees.
