The Cellars-Hohenort, renowned for its elegant setting and impeccable service, has unveiled a specially curated summer menu to elevate its storied tradition of High Tea at the Greenhouse.

Served in the elegance of the historical Hohenort venue, the 4-course High Tea at The Greenhouse is a celebratory affair that includes a glass of Cap Classique to enjoy with the savoury selection that starts with Tea Sandwiches of Cucumber and Sundried Tomato; Roast Chicken Coronation; and Smoked salmon Rose. This is followed by a second course of delicious bites that includes Roast Beef and Mushroom Empanada; Braised Lamb Tartlet; Smoked Snoek Terrine; and Baked Cranberry & Brie Phyllo.

No High Tea is complete without the Cellars-Hohenort’s legendary Scones with Strawberry jam and Chantilly cream served as a third course, before the final course of sweet and delicate confectionary. Expect Raspberry and Pistachio Swiss Roll; Caramel Popcorn Choux Puff; Dark Chocolate and Honeycomb Tart; Blueberry Tartlet; and Pineapple, Sesame and Coconut Opera Cake – all to be enjoyed with a bottomless cup of Nigiro tea or Lavazza coffee.

The Cellars-Hohenort High Tea features a choice of 11 loose-leaf teas – meticulously curated by Master Tea Blender, Mingwei Tsai. He has also created a unique Cellars Hohenort Blend of Nigiro tea, incorporating the spicy fragrance and bronze/apricot colour of the Liz McGrath Rose. This unique rose grows on site in the gardens of the Cellars-Hohenort and was hybridised in 2003 to commemorate the 80th birthday of the late Mrs McGrath, the founder of The Liz McGrath Collection of three sister-hotels.

High Tea at The Greenhouse is an elegant affair, served in a picture-perfect setting with a sublime ambience that invites one to dress up a little. The most perfect way to while away a few hours, it is equally popular as tea-for-two, or as a bridal shower, birthday party with besties or a celebration with the girls. Bookings are essential with at least 24-hours’ notice. Served Saturdays and Sundays at either 11h00 or 14h00, the cost is R455 for Adults and R235 for Children (4 – 11 years).
