Founded by sommelier Jemma Styer and chef Jessie Doveton, Acid has quickly become a celebrated hub for quality experiences in Johannesburg. But how did this journey begin?

It all started with a burning desire to break free from the monotony of the same old restaurants and offer something new and exciting to food and wine enthusiasts. Jemma and Jessie, both experienced in the hospitality industry, joined forces to create a space that is intimate, cozy, and welcoming - a place where people can unwind, socialise, and discover new flavours.

Acid's unique offering is a curated menu that changes weekly, featuring a selection of natural, minimal intervention wines from independent producers who don’t usually get listed or are hard to find. With a focus on female and BIPOC producers, the wine menu is as diverse as it is delicious. From bubblies to whites, reds, and rosés, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
