Paradiso is a culinary gem that promises an exciting dining experience in a lively and stylish setting. This restaurant masterfully blends the essence of Spanish cuisine with a modern twist, offering a menu that is both innovative and deeply satisfying. We decided to head to the vibrant Monte Casino in Fourways, Johannesburg, to experience this standout gem for food lovers seeking a taste of something uniquely delicious.
For starters, we opted for the “Amazeballs,” delightful bites fused with a crisp pastry generously filled with spicy chorizo, fiery jalapeños, and melted cheese, all perfectly complemented by a creamy, house-made chipotle aioli. The dish was absolutely to die for and set a high bar for what’s to come.

The Chicken Wings also made a memorable impression on us, expertly fried and coated in a savoury soy glaze. The sprinkling of sesame seeds and fresh coriander not only brought a touch of elegance to the presentation but also elevated the flavours, making every bite truly enjoyable.
For a lighter yet equally satisfying option, we picked the mouthwatering Tuna Sashimi Nicoise Salad that is a must-try. It combined seared tuna with crisp apple, juicy tomatoes, and a tangy yuzu dressing. The pickled ginger and soft poached egg added layers of flavour and texture, while the crispy baby gem lettuce held everything together beautifully.

The Pulled Beef Pasta was also our favourite hearty choice, with 8-hour cooked beef short rib that falls apart at the touch of a fork. The meat was enveloped in a rich tomato and paprika ragout, served over fresh pappardelle pasta, and finished with a sprinkle of cumin-infused Boerenkaas cheese, creating a robust and satisfying dish.
Pizza lovers will rejoice at the Feta, Avo & Bacon pizza. The harmonious blend of creamy feta, rich avocado, and crispy streaky bacon, all atop a golden, chewy crust blew our taste buds off. It’s a simple yet irresistible combination that pizza aficionados will appreciate.
We ended our dinner with the Rainbow Rolls, a spectacle not just for the palate but also for the eyes. These sushi rolls are enhanced with a vodka-infused teriyaki sauce, which is dramatically lit and poured over the top, adding a smoky depth to the fresh, vibrant flavours of the salmon.
