Our visit to Butcher Boys was driven by the expectation of an exceptional culinary adventure, and it did not disappoint. We were immersed in an environment that epitomises the finer things in life, from the first bite to the last. Every visit here is designed to be unforgettable, leaving a lasting impression that beckons you back time and again.
Aside from exceptional steaks, the Butcher Boys also offers a variety of other dishes that cater to diverse tastes. Our evening began on a high note with the roasted marrow bones, perfectly seasoned with fresh herbs and served alongside crispy crostini. The flavours were rich and the presentation, impeccable.

Our starters also featured Falklands calamari, which could be enjoyed either grilled in a zesty peri-peri sauce or battered and deep-fried to golden perfection. Accompanied by a choice of tartare sauce, lemon butter, or garlic butter, each bite was a testament to the chef’s attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Moving on to the mains, the prime rib-dry aged was our standout dish. Served on the bone, this prime rib boasted a full flavour and a beautiful marbling that enhanced its juiciness and overall taste. It was, quite simply, to die for. Equally impressive was the fillet-wet aged, known for being the leanest and most tender of all cuts. It lived up to its reputation, melting effortlessly in our mouths.

The prawn and avocado salad was another highlight, with its creamy mayo dressing and the fresh, vibrant flavours of pan-seared prawn tails. It was a refreshing and satisfying interlude before dessert.
Speaking of dessert, the malva pudding was a showstopper. This traditional South African favourite was baked to perfection and served with a bourbon butterscotch sauce and vanilla gelato, creating a rich and decadent finale. Additionally, the pitted black cherries flambéed right at the table added a touch of drama and a burst of flavour that paired beautifully with more vanilla gelato.
The cocktails served throughout the evening were crafted to perfection, each one delicious and a great complement to the meal.
Overall, the restaurant delivered an exceptional dining experience with standout dishes that were both traditional and innovative. The service was attentive and the atmosphere inviting, making it a must-visit destination for any food lover.
