It’s a night to express gratitude for the abundant wheat harvest, as well as the overall successes of the year. And there’s even more reason to celebrate – André Brink, head of Groot Phesantekraal, has just been named the Western Cape Farmer of the Year for 2024 by the Agricultural Writers SA Awards.

This wonderful occasion kicks off the festive season, and everyone is invited to join in the fun! Enjoy a night of connection, incredible food, and exceptional wines at this truly unique farm-to-fork dinner.

A feast like no other

As you arrive, sip on a refreshing glass of Cap Classique and mingle with fellow guests, all while soaking in the farm’s peaceful atmosphere. Then, gather around a stunning long table for a starter course featuring freshly baked breads, local cheeses, charcuterie, dips, and seasonal preserves – perfectly paired with the first glass of wine.

For the main meal, Chef Germaine Esau and his talented team will serve up a South African twist on traditional Thanksgiving fare. You can look forward to a hearty feast that includes:

– Roast Chicken

– Bread and Sage Stuffing with Slow-Cooked Onion

– Dry-Aged Free-Range Beef with Chimichurri

– Roast Potatoes

– Roasted Boerpampoen (Pumpkin) with Miso Honey and Pumpkin Seeds

– Garden Greens with Croutons, Local Hard Cheese, and Mustard Dressing

And for dessert? Indulge in the farm’s decadent treats, including:
