Executive Chef Gary Coetzee and his team at Brookdale Estate are concluding their beloved casual ‘Fire & Wine’ Thursday dinners at The Bistro, with the final four sessions happening this month.

This laid-back mid-week dining event features a simple yet tasty grilled dish complemented by a free glass of wine from the Mason Road selection, including options like Shiraz, the GSM red blend, Chenin Blanc, and Serendipity Rosé.

On these evenings, diners can watch Chef Gary at his preferred spot by the grill, enjoying a glass of wine by the cozy central fireplace. Each week brings a new theme, starting with Venison night on September 12, where guests can choose between Kudu fillet and Gemsbok loin with sides. This will be followed by a night of Burgers and thick-cut fries on September 19.

The series continues with a Curry Night on September 26, featuring Tandoori-style Lamb Rump and Butter Chicken with Coconut and Cinnamon rice and various sides, and concludes on October 3 with King Prawns on the grill, with optional sides available.

For those looking to extend their evening in the Paarl Winelands, the Manor House on the estate offers luxury accommodations.

Until September 30, 2024, Brookdale is providing a Hibernation bed and breakfast rate of R7000 per room per night, which includes the Fire & Dine dinner at the Bistro on Thursdays at no extra cost (subject to availability, excluding extras, additional drinks, and service).

The Bistro is open for lunch from Wednesday to Sunday and for dinner on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. Next to The Bistro, the Tasting Room welcomes guests daily from 11:00 to 17:00 (closed on Mondays and Tuesdays), where they can sample estate-grown wines crafted by winemaker Kiara Scott Farmer.
